Additional FY13 Funding Available

DCCAHThe DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities is pleased to announce 2 additional funding opportunities: Festivals DC and Special Project Funding Opportunity 2. Please refer to the bullets below for general reference but be sure to visit our website to carefully review the guidelines for these two grants.

  • With unexpected end-of-the-year resources, the DCCAH is pleased to offer two additional FY13 grant programs for end of FY 2013: Special Project Funding Opportunity 2 and Festivals DC (SPFO 2 and FDC).  Applications are due by Wednesday, July 10, 2013 and funds must be completely spent by successful grantees by September 30, 2013.
  • The SPFO 2 is a project-based grant for the production of innovative arts/humanities project(s) that impact a diverse range of cultures and communities in the District of Columbia.
  • The Festivals DC grant provides support for DC-based festivals promoting arts and humanities activities to varying cultures and communities in the District of Columbia.
  • The maximum request for SPFO 2 and FDC is $30,000 each, and 1:1 cash match is required.
  • Only organizations that have not received FY13 funding will be eligible for SPFO2 grants. As a result, the Special Project Funding Opportunity 2 is open only to applicants who have NOT received FY 2013 funding. Carefully review the SPFO 2 guidelines for more information.
  • Festivals DC is open to all District nonprofit organizations, including those who have received FY13 funding. Carefully review the Festivals DC guidelines for more information on eligibility.
  • Eligible applicants to SPFO 2 and FDC must be incorporated as nonprofit organization with their Federal and DC tax exempt status in good standing (subject to DCRA verification).
  • Because of the late announcement of these grant opportunities, the DCCAH is implementing a shortened grant application — a quick turnaround for all applications and an abbreviated application review process to get the funds to grant recipients as early as possible.  Applications will be adjudicated by a panel of outside experts, as usual.
  • The deadline for SPFO 2 and FDC applications is Wednesday, July 10, 2013.
  • Recipients of SPFO 2 and FDC funds should not expect to receive their payments until September 2013.
  • The Festivals DC grant is made possible by our partnership with the Deputy Mayor on Planning and Economic Development
